The Studio: A Heartwarming Family Comedy of Music & Mayhem
Each episode features a rotating cast of eccentric clients, from soothing singer-songwriters to guitar-shredding rockers and bass-dropping rappers, each with their own unique storyline.
Veteran Atlanta music artist/producer Paul Warner plays a fictional version of himself, while bringing his original songs to the screen. He is joined by his charismatic wife Kala Dismuke and their two mischievous young daughters.
Mark Law ("Remember the Titans") brings southern drawl and humor to Paul as Leonard Skinnard aka “Lenny,” his best friend and roadie, whose loud personality and messy habits clash with Kala's desire for order, creating a comedic tug-of-war for Paul's attention.
Rylie Coe (Vivica A. Fox's "Christmas Together") shines as the quirky, not-so-talented but full-of-attitude Pop Diva Jessica Diamond.
Kyle Campbell’s comedic timing adds another layer of fun as “Soup” the podcasting rapping studio intern, an alter ego of Campbell’s own artist moniker. Ivan Kelley (“Swipers”) plays a comedic version of himself as the enigmatic futuristic R&B singer. Both provide a hip edge to the show’s original soundtrack.
Beyond the laughs, "The Studio" delves into deeper themes: what it means to be a "rock star" in today's social media and AI-driven world, and the clashing perspectives on art and success between millennials and Gen Z.
Think "Modern Family" meets "Dave" with ear-candy touches of original music spanning a broad depth of genres, making "The Studio" a heartwarming family comedy set in today’s fast-paced world.
So, grab your headphones, crank up the volume, and get ready for a laugh-out-loud journey into the wacky realm of music recording, where the real fun happens in between takes!
